Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
