Former British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Undergo Members of Parliament's Grilling In the Wake of Allegations of Bias in Unauthorized Document
We begin with questions from Conservative MP the committee chair, who oversees the group.
She opens by offering background to the leaked memorandum authored by Michael Prescott and released in a daily publication.
"It is not my wish for the BBC leaning in any particular direction, I just want it neutral, unbiased and equitable," he says.
In response to a query whether he believes the BBC is institutionally biased, he replies: "Absolutely not. To be clear, tons of stuff the BBC produces is top-tier - encompassing informative and fictional shows."
But he adds: "There is real work that needs to be done at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
Another previous consultant British Broadcasting Corporation specialist questioned by the panel, Caroline Daniel, says she regards the BBC extremely earnestly and that it has a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" regarding fluid and multifaceted issues.
"Whether the BBC was willing to have a thorough dialogue and debate and implement changes?" she questions. "From my perspective, yes they were."
