Los Angeles Explodes in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
Los Angeles witnessed citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans worldwide united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the first time in 25 years that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Draws Enormous Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Angelenos flooding downtown streets, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, raising the championship trophy proudly.

However, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the rally. Recordings from the gathering seem to depict him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and jeers, with negative shouts interrupting his address.
The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year showed as much if not more support.
“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman remarked. “These fans are crazy. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
