During a dominant showing, England wrapped up another win versus Albania, with multiple players delivering memorable performances throughout the game.

Starting Eleven

The goalkeeper Not a save required before the break but then forced to intervene from Arbër Hoxha’s curling effort. One well-timed sliding tackle against an Albanian attacker showed excellent game intelligence. Six out of ten

John Stones Moved forward with the ball at his feet, as he has done previously. At times lacked urgency in possession with the approach was shelved by the interval. 6/10

Dan Burn A constant threat from dead balls, typically, but may be a replacement to Stones at the back as opposed to alongside him. A careless ball in the second half almost led to a goal for Albania. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly Another assured performance by the youngster after his initial appearance versus another side. Saka did not capitalize on the most of an exquisite backheel behind the Albania defence. The role is his to lose so soon. 7/10

The newcomer His first start with the national team. Slightly loose in possession though his whipped deliveries were a threat. A useful pace-controller available to the manager to call upon against teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed foul. Six

Declan Rice Set-pieces from corners and free-kicks created chances. Enjoyed freedom to drift in left midfield yet found himself in an offside position as the pass came with a chance to score. Given a deserved substitution on the hour mark. 6

Jude Bellingham Operated in a high position down the right and also did plenty of dirty work. Displayed glimpses of brilliance but scuffed an attempt high. Replaced late on for a teammate, his rival, following a yellow card. Seven

The winger Was presented with England’s best chance of the first half, his effort excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. With Quansah staying deep, he was forced to stretch the play out wide yet his deliveries from wide areas varied in quality. Substituted for the final quarter-hour. Six

Harry Kane The difference-maker with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes in an England shirt. The first a trademark close-range tap-in while the second a classy header after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and England have every chance in the upcoming tournament with him up top. Eight

The attacker Found it tough to make an impact from the left. Was presented with a good opening following a pass by Bellingham however Strakosha made the save. His replacement made much more of an impact after coming on. Five
